The Beauty and Flexability of Symbols call for a one on one lesson |
One Symbol can be a Gazillion Colors . Create an oval of any color but red, on the stage with no stroke. Select it, go Modify>Convert to Symbol. Name it, g_circle. We want to make g_circle red (yeah, I just told you not to do that). Make sure it is selected. In the property inspector you should see the “color” drop down menu. With g_cirlce selected, hold down on the “color” drop down menu and select tint. In the tint color box, select a red color. g_cirlce is now red. |
Imagine this. We could have 100 g_circles on the stage and make each one a different color. |
|
Let’s name Layer 1, “Red.” To change a layer name, double click the word Layer1 in the layers palette and type in red. |

Notice that the little white, blank keyframe in frame one of the red layer is now black with a gray background around it. This means that something is in that layer. Whenever you see a white frame in the timeline, that means that nothing is there. That can mean a lot to you. |
