Using Shading and Colors To Create Images |

Today, we're going to use something called a "Gradient Function." Are you a super artist with great drawing skills? Good for you. For all of the rest of us, let me say that art is all about shading.

| Look at anything right now. A pencil. A coffee cup. A lamp. A desk. Look at them closely and think about how you would draw them with pencil or water colors or WHATEVER. |

Here is the effect of regular colors being used. Most computer art programs you can use Gradients. In the image below you see the same image with gradient shades applied.

| Every graphics program offers gradient options. Whatever program you have, open the help option and type in gradients to see what your options are. |
